CENTRE'S PROFILE

The Regional Agriculture Machinery Centre (RAMC), is located at Samtenling block under Gelephu sub- district of Sarpang District. It is under Agriculture Machinery Centre, Bondey, Paro. The Centre is broadly mandated towards research, training of various stakeholders in farm machinery and quality and standards of farm machinery. The centre looks the need of farmers in terms of farming technology in Sarpang, Zhemgang, Tsirang, Dagana. The centre in the southern Dzongkhags as  subtropical climate has potentials of  large scale mechanization. It is well facilitated with an area of 10 acres of protected compound with adequate fields.

TRAINING

The centre is mandated to provide training to farmers, school dropouts students, and technical training institutes students free of cost with minimal allowances provided by RGoB. Taining on operation, maintenance of farm machines and farming technologies are provided on a regular basis.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

The centre caters to coming up with tehcnologies that are required and needed for the area. The research and evaluation is conducted at centre and also at farmers' places for feed back collections and finally dessimination of these proven technologies to the end users

STANDARD AND TESTING

The centre also caters to the drafting of standard based on the need in collaboration with the head quarter. The machines are then tested in these terrains based on the standards approved.
