1. Japanese government grant “Power tiller” consultancy signed

Department of Agriculture and Katahira & Engineers International (KEI) signed the consultancy agreement today i.e November 28, 2016 in the office of Director, Thimphu. KEI shall be involved in the support services for Agriculture Machinery Centre like, the specification drafting and inclusion, tendering processes , inspection of the machines and the execution of transfer of machines to Bhutan to be received under the Japanese government grant support “ Power tiller” which shall indeed greatly benefit to the farmers in the country. In total 353 power tillers had been approved by the Japanese government to Bhutan. Director Mrs Kinley Tshering and Mr Takuji Kono, Deputy Director, KEI signed the agreement. The machines are expected to be received by end of next year. Agriculture Machinery Centre had already started with training of the extension officers and the operators for the smooth management of these power tillers. Engineering Division, AMC and FMCL heads and representatives were present during the signing ceremony.
